Mint pen device IQOS in Luanda: the review shortlist
Mint in Luanda: 20 units tested over 6 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Angola.
What the label on Mint is allowed to say
Mint in a pen device is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Luanda the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Mint prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Luanda that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within Kz2.72 per 10 ml.
The short version: mint in Luanda works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a mint pen device really costs in Luanda
We run mint the same way in Luanda: same pen device, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested mint in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 8–15 business days.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every mint bottle shipped into Angola.
- Batch code and production date, so a mint bottle turned in 6 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where mint goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Angola stocks.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why mint tastes flat after two days.
